On Road To Recovery – Baby Steps
Posted on June 3rd, 2013 No commentsApril 29th, I woke up in the middle of night from pain and felt my entire lower body was been pushed by two pieces of wooden clapboard from both side of hips, and I was frightened to sense that something was majorly wrong. Immobilized, I stared into the darkness, in pain and agony, knowing that I got myself seriously messed up this time and I needed to stop what I love doing – running.
Runners tend to take physical pain very well, and we pride ourselves Read the rest of this entry »

Paris Marathon 2013 Write-up II
Posted on May 19th, 2013 No commentsSunday Apr 7th, Paris was cold and windy in the morning, about 30°F only. At 7:20am I took the Metro to Porte Dauphine where the Paris Marathon Finish would be, and the only place for gear-check bag to be dropped off , at the bottom of Avenue Foch near Arc de Triomphe. I checked in my bag and walked to the Start on the Read the rest of this entry »

Posted on April 30th, 2013 No commentsWhen I entered the lottery drawing for my first “destination race” – Tokyo Marathon, I had a backup plan in mind in case I did not get into Tokyo. My secondary choice was Paris Marathon 2012, and after the amazing experience running in Tokyo I Read the rest of this entry »

Finding Running Groove
Posted on March 25th, 2013 No commentsTaking “inventory” of what has happened over the last few weeks, it makes me thank my legs for running all the miles and appreciate the importance and value of friendship even more!
After the a bit disappointing Tokyo Marathon, I only had a week off from my training even though I was joking that “two weeks recovery and Read the rest of this entry »

Tokyo Marathon 2013 Write-Up II
Posted on March 17th, 2013 No commentsSat, Feb 23rd, I went outside of Tokyo to seek for some quiet “me time” and ended up doing an unexpected hike for couple hours. It’s a very nice day for my little adventure and field-trip which I will write about it later, but it did occur to me as I was climbing up some stairs in the middle of Mt. Mitake that my friend Mike Read the rest of this entry »

Two Weeks and Counting
Posted on February 16th, 2013 No commentsWho would have thought that journey to Tokyo Marathon requires hundred hours of training, thousand miles of traveling plus countless hours of losing sleep and crying one’s heart out?
A bit frustrated after the last 20ml long run on Sat, Feb 9th, so I started asking opinions and inputs from other runners. Not that I can change my Read the rest of this entry »

Kasier SF Half Marathon 2013
Posted on February 5th, 2013 No commentsMy training has not gone well after CIM, too short for a full training cycle and too long to treat it as a back to back race. The changes of race and travel plan has topped unnecessary pressure as well, and Read the rest of this entry »
