When I found myself getting an entry spot for New York City Marathon, I could NOT believe how lucky I was. After trying my luck with the lottery system for couple years, I had pretty much gave up the idea of running NYC in this life time already :-p. April 29th, I woke up in the middle of night from pain and felt my entire lower body was been pushed by two pieces of wooden clapboard from both side of hips, and I was frightened to sense that something was majorly wrong. Immobilized, I stared into the darkness, in pain and agony, knowing that I got myself seriously messed up this time and I needed to stop what I love doing – running.

Sunday Apr 7th, Paris was cold and windy in the morning, about 30°F only. At 7:20am I took the Metro to Porte Dauphine where the Paris Marathon Finish would be, and the only place for gear-check bag to be dropped off , at the bottom of Avenue Foch near Arc de Triomphe. Taking “inventory” of what has happened over the last few weeks, it makes me thank my legs for running all the miles and appreciate the importance and value of friendship even more!
