Three Weeks and Counting
Posted on February 9th, 2013 No commentsMonday Feb 4th, the race packet for Tokyo Marathon arrived via postal mail, and I had very mixed feeling while holding it. I was standing in the post office mail box lobby, and feeling a little bittersweet about this white envelope. It certainly made the race more real now, but at the same time Read the rest of this entry »

Kasier SF Half Marathon 2013
Posted on February 5th, 2013 No commentsMy training has not gone well after CIM, too short for a full training cycle and too long to treat it as a back to back race. The changes of race and travel plan has topped unnecessary pressure as well, and Read the rest of this entry »

California International Marathon (CIM) 2012
Posted on December 6th, 2012 No commentsI have always heard about CIM in Sacramento, but never thought about running CIM before, for I always considered that’s a race for fast runners! A race for people want to and good enough to qualify for Boston or Olympics trials. As far as my concern, everyone running CIM is an elite runner. If not because of the “yes you can do it; you can break sub-4 with room for a cup of coffee” from Read the rest of this entry »

Week 13 of CIM Training
Posted on November 15th, 2012 No commentsSunday Nov 4th, week 13 of CIM training, and I am having this “I am not ready yet” panic. Somehow I don’t see this season’s training is producing measurable and significant result — speed-wise; I just don’t feel that I am running any faster than beginning of this year and I Read the rest of this entry »

Week 11 & 12 CIM Training
Posted on October 31st, 2012 No commentsWeek 11 of CIM Training encountered some variation due to season changes, for not only dark in early morning, also rainy in Bay Area.
Monday Oct 15th, I was out with friend and stayed up quite late. Originally was thinking to try out my new running shoes, Brooks Pure Cadence, at San Tomas Aquino Trail, but forgot my headlamp so no way I could run there in absolute darkness. Ended up Read the rest of this entry »

Rock n’ Roll San Jose Half Marathon 2012
Posted on October 9th, 2012 No commentsRock n’ Roll San Jose 2012 is a run dedicated to Pete Mingwah
1970 – 2012
I have done several Rock n’ Roll races, including every Rock n’ Roll San Jose Half Marathon except last year due to knee injury; in fact I ran their very first inaugural event when Rock n’ Roll first came into Bay Area in Oct 2006. The same course in our backyard never bored me, and I just signed up the following year when I picked up my bib at the Expo each year. When one runs Read the rest of this entry »

Week 6 CIM Training
Posted on September 30th, 2012 No commentsLast week I entered my 6th week into CIM training, and my 2nd 20ml long run. This 16-week program I am following for CIM is put together by my friend Chris, which he incorporated my running capability and race goal into this tailored program. The program seemed to be Read the rest of this entry »
