Maximize Your Workout
Posted on January 19th, 2010 No commentsAfter the 20 ml long run on Sat, I was planning to do my 6 ml recovery run as – 1 ml easy warm up, 4 ml tempo and 1 ml cool down at Los Gatos Creek Trail this morning with the Bay Area Runners group. However, I was woken up around 5 in the morning by the sound of downpour, and no way was I going out in weather like that. Read the rest of this entry »

From Dreaded Boredom to True Advantage – Benefits of Treadmill Running
Posted on September 14th, 2009 No commentsLast weekend I went to a movie with Loi, whom I had trained with and completed the Honolulu Marathon together in 2006. There were about 150 runners that season through Team In Training program, and “my girls” were Read the rest of this entry »

Choose your workouts and burn calories!
Posted on June 8th, 2009 No commentsMy sister has started her battle with weight again recently, since summer is obviously here already. Her plan is a combination of diet and exercise, at my recommendation, and she is doing this slowly – no more than 1kg each week. I am sure many women (or some men) have been struggling with their weights, and for some Read the rest of this entry »

Investing in Myself 1, 2, 3
Posted on May 21st, 2009 No commentsLast night I got an email from a friend of mine asking me to join a Line Dance class with her; in her email she simply stated “seriously need to exercise and lose some weight, but need a companion to do it together.” Clear enough! I replied, Read the rest of this entry »

Taipei on the Run
Posted on May 12th, 2009 No commentsThe annual ING Bay to Breakers is coming up this weekend, and no way that I am going to miss this San Francisco signature event. To run 12K with a pack of fun participants in creative and flambount costumes, flying tortilla, and some not so beautiful nude runners, makes it one of its kind event. I actually Read the rest of this entry »

Ganbade! Japanese Runners in the Honolulu Marathon
Posted on May 8th, 2009 No commentsI ran the 26.2 miles Honolulu Marathon on Dec. 10, 2006, and it was such a remarkable event for me. Couple reasons contribute to that, for one, I was a Team in Training mentor for a group of very special and wonderful girls; for 20 weeks we trained to complete this marathon together, and it’s their first full marathon. I was fundraising for two events that season, the Nike Women’s Half Marathon and the Honolulu Marathon; I have exceeded the fundraising minimum for both events, thanks to all the sponsors and supporters. The course was beautiful and weather was nice, firework at 5:00am was just spectacular. The first glimpse of Hawaiian sunrise when I made it to the top of Diamond Head was also unforgettable. Joy of Running
Posted on April 27th, 2009 No commentsThis morning I finished my 5 miles around 7:40 am and was having a blast!! I have ran the first 2 miles solo and met-upwith my new running buddy Thuy and did another 3 together. I have foundThuy on Craigslist who just recently moved to San Jose from Dallas. Glad that I can be his new friend in town and offer him the same friendship that I had received from Chris two years ago when I first moved to L.A.
Thuy and I were talking about running and hiking, and I told him that I could never stand walking/hiking for 11 Read the rest of this entry »
