Heart and Mind

Do you know how it feels when you close your eyes,
and the only thing that you can see
is a love that you lost and just can’t seem to find
a way to set yourself free.

Although in my mind I know it’s alright that
we should go our separate ways,
but deep inside this heart of mine
nothing can cure the pain.

I miss you more as each day goes on
even though I don’t let you know;

My mind and my heart compete with each other
to see which one will survive,
if my heart wins I know I will lose my mind,
